Application open for Class of 2023 Purple Star designation

The Department is accepting applications to become a Purple Star-designated school. The Purple Star designation recognizes schools that show a significant commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. All applicants must demonstrate a commitment to meeting the unique wellness and academic needs of Ohio’s military-connected youth. A Purple Star school receives the designation for three years after which the school can reapply. Purple Star schools eligible for a renewal designation will receive an invitation to apply via email.

The application window opens Nov. 1. Applications are due Dec. 15. The Department will announce members of the Purple Star Class of 2023 in April 2023, the Month of the Military Child.
