2027 Ohio Military Signing Day

Each March, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce hosts a statewide Military Signing Day event. Registration for 2027’s event will open in late fall to early winter. Event information will be available on this webpage and through the EdConnection newsletter. Sign up to receive the weekly EdConnection newsletter. 
 
Military Signing Day celebrates Ohio's high school students who commit to military service. Students in grades 11 and 12 who committed to military service are invited to attend, including those students who:  
  • Will attend a service academy; 
  • Accepted a Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC) scholarship; or
  • Enlist in the military.  
Ohio Military Signing Day features Ohio-based speakers who are leaders in the military, education, and workforce development fields. Each student that attends receives a certificate and a cord to wear at graduation. 

Local Military Signing Events

Some students joining the military are not able to attend Ohio Military Signing Day. Schools are encouraged to coordinate local military signing events to honor the commitment of their students. The materials below can be used for local events:
