Support Schools Tool

The Department has designed the Support Schools Tool to help districts and schools track the implementation of their One Plans. The Support Schools Tool contains questions that help district and building leadership teams reflect on and adjust the implementation of their One Plan.

The Support Schools Tool is updated annually. Changes from year to year are minimal, unless required by statute. These changes occur by January each year. The tool is required for assigned cohorts mid-plan (January - March in year 2 of their three-year ED STEPS plan); however, it is available to all districts and schools at any point in their three-year ED STEPS cycle. Required districts and schools will be posted to this page and notified of their required status each January.

Contact the Office of School and District Improvement or your State Support Team for additional assistance or information.

Purpose of the Support Schools Tool

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Support Schools Tool helps districts and schools track the effectiveness of the implementation of evidenced-based strategies identified in their school improvement plans. The Tool supports district and school leadership teams as they reflect on the efficacy of their educational practices. District leadership teams, with the assistance of State Support Teams, also use this tool to identify areas of improvement and inform targeted coaching efforts for individual schools.
