Summer Food Service Program Potential Sponsor Survey
The Summer Food Service Program, funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, provides cash reimbursements to sponsoring agencies that serve nutritionally adequate meals to low-income children or to children living in low-income areas throughout Ohio.
The program is administered at the state level by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. Organizations participating in the Summer Food Service Program must be exempt from federal taxes. For-profit organizations are not eligible to be a sponsor or a site under this program. Complete the survey to determine your agency’s eligibility for program participation and begin the application process: Potential New SFSP Sponsor Survey. The survey is open October 1 – May 1.
The Department provides opportunity for schools, nonprofits, camps, and local government agencies interested in the Summer Food Service Program to enroll in one of the 2026 SFSP Potential New Sponsor Trainings, a comprehensive virtual session designed to equip potential new sponsors with the knowledge and tools to launch a successful Summer Food Service Program.
The training will cover: Program Basics, Financial Viability Review, Sponsor Responsibilities, and Operational Readiness. Register by clicking on a link below. All webinars are 11:00 a.m. – Noon.
