Concluding Fall Testing

The fall high school End of Course (EOC) testing window closes Jan. 12. All scorable answer documents must be returned by Jan. 15 and all nonscorable secure documents by Jan. 22. Score reporting dates are posted on the 2023-2024 Testing Dates page of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (Department) website.

Printed Family Reports for the following tests are due in districts:
  • fall Grade 3 English Language Arts (ELA) tests Jan. 22.
  • high school EOC tests March 25.

Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) Extended Test Window

The fall OST EOC testing window is extended Jan. 15 through Feb. 9 for Dropout Prevention and Recovery (DOPR) community schools to test their students. This extension to the high school EOC testing window is only for those students that are in a DOPR program that have not already tested during the fall high school EOC test window Nov. 27-Jan. 12.

Approved DOPR schools were sent an email regarding actions needed. For further information regarding DOPR, please contact the Office of Community Schools.

Deadline to Download OST High School EOC Participation Reports

The fall high school EOC testing window closes Jan. 12, 2024. Due to the extension of the high school EOC testing window for DOPR students, a few Monitoring Test Progress task reports will not reflect OST students who were marked eligible but did not complete the tests for the below reports after Jan. 12:
  • Plan and Manage Testing: Under “Get Specific” when using the first radio button, reports generated when selecting students who “have not” started or completed will only show those students marked for DOPR.
  • Test Status Code Reports: Tests without a status (meaning not yet started) will only include students marked for DOPR.
  • Test Completion Rates: The “Total Student” column will be the sum of students who completed the test anytime in the standard or extended windows plus DOPR marked students who have not yet completed the test. The “Total Student Started” and “Total Student Completed” columns will be based on all tests administered anytime in the standard or extended windows.

Spring 2024 On-time Order Window

The spring 2024 on-time order window for all subjects is open in TIDE Jan. 30-Feb. 5. District test coordinators (DTCs) place orders under the “Paper Orders Grades 3-8 Spring 2024” and “Paper Orders High School EOC Spring 2024” administrations in TIDE. Review the Spring 2024 OST Test Administration Manual (OST TAM) keywords “Key Dates for Online Testing” for details on placing orders. All orders are subject to Department approval.

Paper Test Option for the 2024-2025 Grade 3 Assessments

Ohio law allows the option of paper or online administration for Grade 3 OST and the Alternate Assessment for Students with the Most Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD). A district board of education or governing authority must make the choice to use paper tests and submit a board or governing authority resolution to the Department by May 1 for the following school year.

District superintendents and DTCs received a secure link from Cambium Assessment (Ohio Meetings) in December to specify which grade 3 assessments (ELA, mathematics, or both) they will administer in paper format for the 2024-2025 school year and to upload the resolution authorizing that choice.

A district or community school does not need to submit a resolution if it:
  • gives only online tests to third graders. (Paper accommodations will still be available as accessibility features without a board or governing authority resolution.); or
  • does not test third graders.

Please contact Ohio Meetings at ohiomeetings@cambiumassessment.com if the December email was not received or for questions about accessing or submitting the form.
