Learn to build media literacy in students

April is School Library Month – a great reminder of the importance of building media literacy skills in Ohio’s students. Today’s technology gives people easier access to more information than has ever been available. This makes discerning the quality of information consumed an essential skill. Teachers, school librarians and other educators can begin exploring how to teach media literacy with WOUB’s Teaching Media Literacy in the Classroom video series. Watch the series of three brief videos to learn how media literacy can be taught in all grade levels by teachers of any subject in partnership with school librarians.

The video series was created by the Broadcast Educational Media Commission, the Department and WOUB Public Media as a part of the Multimedia Grant project.
