Venereal disease and sexual education instruction audit

8/18/2022

The Department has instructions and troubleshooting tips available for school personnel reporting information for the venereal disease and sexual education instruction audit. Ohio law requires the Ohio Department of Education to conduct an annual audit of each city, local and exempted village school district about its compliance with the requirements for venereal disease and sexual education instruction. The audit is required by Ohio Revised Code 3313.60 and 3313.6011. The current audit collects information from the 2021-2022 school year.

Within the monitoring system, available in the OHꟾID portal, districts must give a sample documentation of, including but not limited to, parental notification, title and copyright of curriculum and number of students excused from instruction. Districts should provide this information to the Department by Sept. 1.

Find complete instructions for accessing the monitoring system and more on the Department’s website. Direct questions to Randi Myers.
