Learn about the Department's updated User Profile creation process
2/12/2024
On March 1, 2024, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce will launch an updated user profile creation process. The new approach focuses on improving the customer experience by simplifying the process and modernizing the user interface. To enhance data privacy, only the data required for a requested application will be collected. Additionally, system checks have been added to reduce the number of duplicate profiles and other issues that require manual intervention by Department support teams.
It is important to note that a user profile is different from an OHID account. Creating an OHID account is still the first step because it allows access to the OHID App Store.
When a new user runs a Department application in the App Store, they will be prompted to create a user profile at that time. Where possible, the user profile creation process automatically reuses information from the OHID account to minimize duplicate data entry.
The new process aims to increase customer satisfaction by streamlining the process of creating a user profile. The transition from the old to new process will be seamless for new users and will not impact existing user profiles.
