Register: Human Capital Essentials trainings and virtual coaching sessions

2/21/2023

Districts are equipped to serve and support students when they hire, grow and retain quality staff. The Department, in partnership with Battelle for Kids, is committed to developing human capital expertise by providing leaders with free professional learning and resources.

Human Capital Essentials is designed for all district and building leaders who have a role in hiring or managing people. This training addresses standards in all four domains of Ohio’s Principal Standards. Participants will receive an e-badge and contact hours.

In this training, participants will build capacity in the following areas:

  • Human capital system and organizational alignment;
  • Recruitment, branding and communication;
  • Hiring practices; and
  • Employee engagement.

In-person one-day trainings include:

  • Thursday, March 2, North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (Tiffin)
  • Tuesday, March 7, Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center (Lowellville)
  • Wednesday, March 15, Anthony Wayne Local Schools (Whitehouse)
  • Tuesday, March 28, Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center (Chauncey)

Anyone who has attended a Human Capital Essentials training is invited to a virtual Networking & Coaching session. These hourlong calls focus on strategy sharing and will dive deeper into topics covered in training, including recruitment, retention and employee engagement, employee brand and communications, and employee well-being. Past attendees are encouraged to invite colleagues from their districts to assist with implementation efforts.
