Career advising policy and cost-saving strategies for postsecondary education

2/6/2023

Effective July 21, 2022, an amendment to Ohio Revised Code 3313.6020 requires districts to provide students with information about cost-saving strategies and programs for postsecondary education. In response to the amendment, the chancellor of Higher Education developed informational resources that illustrate cost-saving estimates for postsecondary education and the following programs:

  • The reserve officer training corps;
  • College Credit Plus program;
  • Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways Initiative;
  • Joint academic programming or dual enrollment opportunities.

District leaders shall specify in local advising policies how students will receive these college affordability strategies.
