Scholarships available for students entering oil and natural gas industry

The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) and the Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Foundation provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the natural gas and oil industry. To date, they have awarded more than $599,000 to help students with their higher educational needs.

Each scholarship is worth $1,000 per year for up to four years of potential eligibility. At minimum scholarship applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• Be a U.S. citizen;
• Have a career goal in the natural gas and oil industry;
• Be an Ohio resident or a student attending, or planning to attend, an accredited Ohio college, university, technical or trade school;
• Have and maintain a grade-point average of 2.5 or higher.
