The Foundation also offers local school boards the opportunity to honor and recognize their district's leader for the Ohio Outstanding Superintendent Performance Award. A school board may nominate a district leader by uploading the two items below on this Google Form:

  • Nomination letter from the Board President on district letterhead

Guidance for the nomination letter and narrative are in the nomination form.

A committee will select one superintendent to be awarded $10,000 to support deep learning and excellent teaching in the district. Up to five additional superintendents may be recognized for excellence in the field and receive $1,000 for their districts. All awards will be payable to each honoree's school district in the honoree's name.

Awards are for public school superintendents who have deep respect from students and colleagues, remain intellectually alive, demonstrate leadership in their field and serve as a model of excellence for the teaching profession. All nominees must have completed five years of experience as an Ohio superintendent and must have served in his or her current position for at least two years by the end of this school year to qualify.
