Senate Bill 288 webpage coming soon

3/27/2023

Ohio’s 134th General Assembly enacted Senate Bill 288, which includes updated requirements for schools and districts related to child sexual abuse prevention and sexual violence prevention. The legislation includes requirements for student instruction, parent and legal guardian notification and training for school personnel.

Schools must implement these new requirements beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. The Department currently is developing a webpage that outlines the new legislative requirements and lists potential sexual violence curriculum and instructional supports to assist school districts in meeting the updated requirements. The Department will make an announcement when the webpage is available.
