New Rules for Public Comment

The Department regularly posts rules for public comment. Recently, current rules related to data acquisition sites, school enrollment for victims of domestic violence, and personal information systems recently opened for comment.

The Department announces annual Summer Food Service Program 

Ohio Department of Education and Workforce is seeking local nonprofit agencies to participate as sponsors or sites for this year’s Summer Food Service Program to increase participation in summer meal programs.

Special Education Profile to be updated with disproportionality data, indicator recalculations

Last month, the Department released the first phase of the 2023-2024 Special Education Profile. The second phase is will be available in the coming weeks and includes disproportionate representation and significant disproportionality in special education identification, placement, and discipline. Districts and schools must complete all required activities detailed in the Special Education Profile to demonstrate compliance with IDEA.

Upcoming Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment and Alternate Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment office hours

Department team members will answer questions and provide technical assistance during upcoming virtual office hours about the Ohio English Language Proficiency and Alternate Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessments.
