Task Force on Best Academic Practice Models for Black Students
Delivering on the Promise of Brown v. Board of Education in Ohio
Ohio has been honest and transparent about recognizing the need for improvement in achieving greater equity in the state’s education system. In Ohio’s Strategic Plan for Education, Each Child, Our Future, equity is called out as the first core principle. The commitment to equity, combined with the existence of persistent disparities and achievement gaps for students who are Black, creates the imperative for the formation of a task force to focus on improving educational outcomes for these students. There is significant evidence and research relative to what can work and be effective in correcting academic inequities and closing achievement gaps.
