Assessment Authoring Recent Updates

Several improvements have been made to Assessment Authoring recently. Below is a brief description of each.

  • Multiple items can now be added or removed from a test with a single action.
  • The Test Generator Wizard now shows the number of items available when selecting standards to include.
  • In TIDE, the Test Session Status Report now includes teacher-authored tests.
  • In TIDE, when creating or viewing Test Status Requests, a new radio button makes it easy to find teacher-authored tests (similar to what was already available in Plan and Manage Testing).
More details about the these improvements can be found in the Assessment Authoring and TIDE user guides. Lastly, the Assessment Authoring user guide and training modules have been updated with more information and details on sharing content.

Spring 2025 ACT and SAT testing requirements and dates posted

State law requires that Ohio schools administer the ACT or SAT to all grade 11 students in the spring of the school year unless they meet the exemption requirements. Beginning in spring 2025 for the Class of 2026, Ohio Revised Code 3301.0712 (B)(1)(b) allows a parent or guardian to elect for their student not to take the state-funded ACT or SAT. Test dates for spring 2025 ACT and SAT are now posted on the Department website. Contact Michael Reiser at 614-644-7305 for questions.

College Board is providing office hours to address questions about the Spring 2024 Digital SAT administration on Thursdays from 10:30 a.m.-11 a.m. through March 28. The link to join for Office Hours will be same each time.
