Registration now open for 2016 Ohio Educational Technology Conference

Registration is now available for the 2016 Ohio Educational Technology Conference, P-20: Educating Ohio’s Future, Feb. 9-11, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus. Early registration is open until Oct. 28. New for 2016, when teams of five or more register together, all will receive a 10 percent discount on registration. Visit the registration page for details.

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment — guidelines for test coordinators

Guidelines to help school district test coordinators with reporting Kindergarten Readiness Assessment data are now available here. The guidelines provide information about the 2014 data distributed in June 2015, the Language and Literacy cut scores for the 2015 administration, and when the student scores and parent reports will be ready in the KReady system.

Last week for early registration for Rural National Forum

This is the last week to take advantage of early registration for the third annual Rural Education National Forum. Battelle for Kids, in partnership with the Ohio and Kentucky departments of education, will host the forum in Columbus on Oct. 26-27. This event is a valuable opportunity for rural consortium members to learn and interact with national leaders and practitioners around key rural education issues. Free Storia eBooks available for fourth grade

Again this year, fourth grade teachers will have access to a special collection of 160 eBook titles through Scholastic’s Storia, courtesy of INFOhio. The 160 titles – 58 fiction and 102 nonfiction – were specially chosen to support Ohio’s fourth grade standards in English, math, social studies and science. A spreadsheet with the complete list of titles is available on the Storia information page at infohio.org/goto/storia.
