Join in the conversation and contribute to Ohio’s Every Student Succeeds Act plan

Under the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), Ohio will create a plan for how our local, state and federal programs are aligned to help all of our students be successful. The Ohio Department of Education will be seeking your involvement at a series of meetings throughout the state. Everyone is welcome to attend and share their ideas.

Changes coming to OEDS Web interface

The Ohio Educational Directory System (OEDS) is getting a facelift! A newly redesigned Web interface will be available to users and to the public Friday, July 29. Those who regularly use OEDS will see a completely different look from the former system. For a limited time, there will still be access to the current system, but users are encouraged to perform tasks within the new interface.

Reminder – makeup plans for excess calamity days via online lessons or blizzard bags due July 31

Calamity day plans are due July 31 to the Ohio Department of Education. An approved plan allows you to use online lessons or “blizzard bags” to make-up the number of hours equivalent to three school days.

Special Education Annual Ratings

Every year, school districts receive a report on the performance of their special education programs, known as their Special Education Rating. The department will send districts’ ratings in early August, with reports emailed to superintendents, special education contacts and community school sponsors.
