As parents and families prepare to send children to school for the first time, keep in mind these important reminders regarding kindergarten eligibility. A child must be at least 5 years old by the district’s age cutoff date of either Aug. 1 or Sept. 30 to enter kindergarten. Age is the only requirement to enroll in kindergarten.
