The Ohio departments of Education and Higher Education are hosting a webcast to share information about participation in College Credit Plus for the 2016-2017 school year. IDEA Part B federal application for federal Fiscal Year 2016 is available for review

All states making application for funds under Part B of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act are required to make available for public review and comment the application packet for those federal funds. These are the funds that support provision of special education services to children ages 3 to 21 in Ohio.

Third Grade Reading Guarantee diagnostic RFQ released

The department has posted the Request for Qualifications: Comparable Assessment to Ohio’s Diagnostic Assessment for the Third Grade Reading Guarantee. This is not a competitive procurement, but districts using specific vendors not currently on the list may wish to encourage their vendors to apply through this RFQ.

Register now for the 2016 Ohio Latino Education Summit on March 11

Registration is open for the 2016 Ohio Latino Education Summit, “Leveraging Latino Learning Through Career Connections,” on March 11 at the University of Toledo Student Union. The conference brings together educators, administrators, nonprofit leaders, parents, students, policymakers and other stakeholders to discuss educational issues in Ohio’s Hispanic community.
