Ohio Computer Science Promise Program provides more learning opportunities for students

4/22/2024

Through the Ohio Computer Science (CS) Promise Program, students have access to more CS coursework through approved providers. The Department is currently accepting applications from eligible providers to deliver one or more computer science courses during the 2024-2025 school year that align to Ohio’s High School Learning Standards for Computer Science. Under the program, students in grades 7-12 can enroll, at no cost, in one computer science course per academic year that is not offered by the student's secondary school and receive high school credit.

Register for an informational session May 1 at 1 p.m. for details about applying for the program list. Additional information about the criteria and application process is available on the Department’s Computer Science Promise webpage. The deadline to apply is May 17 at 11:59 p.m.

Ohio law requires the Department to annually develop and publish a list of approved CS Promise program eligible providers. For more information, please email computerscience@education.ohio.gov.
