Publication offers best practices for personalizing professional learning

The Department participated in a national research workgroup to create “The K-12 Guide to Personalizing Professional Learning.” School officials leading professional learning efforts in schools or districts will find valuable ideas in the publication as schools work to personalize professional learning for all educators.

New Rules for Public Comment

The Department regularly posts rules for public comment. Recently, a rule related to the adoption of policies and procedures to ensure student and stakeholder needs are addressed opened for comment. Find the rule and related public comment deadlines on the Department’s website. Check the site often as additional rules may be added throughout the week.

Register now: No-cost threat assessment team training until June 30

Ohio law  requires each local, city, exempted village and joint vocational school district to create a threat assessment team for each school building in the district serving grades 6-12 by March 24, 2023.

Educational service centers will offer free training to all schools and districts in the nationally recognized Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG) model for the remainder of this school year only.

Register for SAVE Students Act information session

The Department is hosting an information session on the prevention education requirements enacted by the Safety and Violence Education (SAVE) Students Act. The presentation will provide content for school personnel or others responsible for schools meeting SAVE Students Act requirements.
