U.S. Department of Education issues guidance documents related to student health records

The U.S. Department of Education’s Student Privacy Policy Office recently published two guidance documents related to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The guidance documents focus on student health records and encourage school officials to consider the importance of student privacy, including health privacy, before disclosing information from education records.

Early childhood educators invited to participate in career survey

The Department is interested in learning about the factors and conditions contributing to educators either staying or leaving the field of early education. Early childhood educators can complete this brief survey by May 15 to share their thoughts.

Teacher workloads are heavy, but free resources to celebrate Financial Literacy Month in the classroom might help. The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland offers free financial literacy resources, including online games, lesson plans and tools for use in classrooms.
