Nominate a grade 7-12 STEM teacher for national recognition

8/29/2022

The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors the United States government bestows on K-12 science, technology, engineering and mathematics teachers.

Awardees receive:

  • A certificate signed by the president of the United States;
  • A $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation;
  • A paid trip to Washington, D.C.; and
  • Access to a network of award-winning teachers from across the country.

Anyone—principals, teachers, parents, students or members of the public—may nominate exceptional STEM teachers who currently are teaching grades 7-12. The nomination deadline is Jan. 9, 2023.

Secondary school science, technology, engineering or mathematics teachers in grades 7-12 also can apply for the award. Teachers do not need a nomination to apply. The application deadline is Feb. 6, 2023.

Visit the Ohio Department of Education webpage to see current Ohio awardees. To nominate a teacher or apply, visit www.paemst.org.
