New public comment opportunity for changes to EMIS guidelines

Ohio law allows EMIS users to review and provide public comment on new or updated EMIS guidelines. The Department recently posted a public comment opportunity for the following EMIS guidelines:

  • 25-11     Clarify Reporting Guidance for Withdrawal Reason 38
  • 25-13     Clarifies Previous Year District IRN Reporting
  • 25-22     Update Admission Reason 5
  • 25-24     Adds New Retained/Promoted Status Option
  • 25-37     Updates Withdrawal Codes Reportable via FL Record
  • 25-38     Career-Technical Assessment Matrix Changes
  • 25-41     Updates to PK Experiences Program Codes
  • 25-52     Updates to attributes reporting for kindergarten students
  • 25-69     Add Data Set to FA Record File Layout
  • 25-72     Updates to RIMP Code Reporting (grade 5)
  • 25-74     Clarify Reporting of Disadvantagement Element for preschool students
  • 25-77     Clean Up GE Record File Layout
  • 25-78     Corrects Referral for Evaluation Date

The deadline to submit comments is March 13. Complete details about the changes are available on the Fiscal Year 2025 EMIS Changes website. EMIS guidelines that are subject to change are posted on the Department’s website for 30 days for public comment and for an additional 30 days with the Department's response to comments.
