New public comment opportunity for changes to EMIS guidelines

Ohio law allows EMIS users to review and provide public comment on new or updated EMIS guidelines. The Department recently posted a public comment opportunity for the following EMIS guidelines:

  • 24-7 Eliminate schedule of federal assistance
  • 24-9 Remove How Received Element Option F
  • 24-27 All districts able to report student contact information
  • 24-39 Clarify teacher licensure course IRN reporting
  • 24-41 Student acceleration reporting
  • 24-42 Remove English learner status option trial mainstream
  • 24-44 Updates to subject codes
  • 24-46 Updates to Advanced Placement subject and assessment area codes
  • 24-47 Updates extended standards subject codes
  • 24-48 Update reporting guidance for English learner status
  • 24-58 Update reporting guidance for Early Learning Assessment and Child Outcome Summary
  • 24-61 Update to Coordinated Early Intervening Services program code 221005

The deadline to submit comments is April 5. Complete details about the changes are available on the Fiscal Year 2024 EMIS Changes website. EMIS guidelines that are subject to change are posted on the Department’s website for 30 days for public comment and for an additional 30 days with the Department's response to comments.
