EmpowerVetEd grant provides assistance in completing educator prep programs for military service members and veterans

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and the Department of Veterans Services are seeking applicants for EmpowerVetEd Grants.

This grant opportunity is for institutions of higher education to provide financial incentives and assistance to eligible military individuals, including active duty service members, national guard, reserves, veterans, and their spouses, to enroll in and complete an approved educator preparation program as defined in Ohio law. Grant applications are due April 30.

The request for applications is available on EmpowerVetEd grants, and more information will be shared during a question and answer session March 12 via Microsoft Teams. Registration is required prior to attending.

The EmpowerVetEd grant will be funded under fiscal years 2024 and 2025 via appropriations of House Bill 33 of the 135th General Assembly. A total of up to $2 million has been allocated for EmpowerVetEd grants.
