Restraint and seclusion data report available

The restraint and seclusion data report for the 2020-2021 school year, “Data Insights on Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) and Utilization of Restraint and Seclusion,” is available on the Department’s website.

This report highlights the following:

• Programs the Department has implemented to support restraint and seclusion reduction, including PBIS, trauma-informed care and the Whole Child Framework;
• State-level restraint and seclusion data for the past three school years; and
• Next steps for additional technical assistance, professional development and resources to support districts in creating safe and supportive school environments.
