Register for the 2024 Summer Summit: Celebrate the Plate to prepare for providing summer food access

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Office of Nutrition is hosting the annual Summer Summit, themed Celebrate the Plate, on Feb. 5, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Quest Conference Center in Westerville. The summit will allow summer meal program providers, community partners, and Summer Food Service Program stakeholders to improve summer food access across Ohio.

Register to attend Support Schools Tool open office hours

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce designed the Support Schools Tool to help districts, schools, and community schools track the implementation of their One Plans. The Support Schools Tool contains questions that help district, building, and community school leadership teams reflect on and adjust, as needed, the implementation of their One Plan.

New Rules for Public Comment

The Department regularly posts rules for public comment. Draft revisions to rules related to the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program, standards for measuring sponsor compliance, and early child education screening and assessment are newly posted.

2023-2024 Special Education Profile released

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce released part of the 2023-2024 Special Education Profile for all districts and community schools Dec. 15. The profile displays a district’s performance on key indicators established by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and informs the district of any required activities based on these indicators. Districts must complete all required activities detailed in the Special Education Profile to demonstrate compliance with IDEA.
