School Bus Driver Safety Road-e-o

School bus drivers throughout Ohio may participate in regional school bus safety road-e-o competitions in the spring. The school bus safety road-e-o is designed to test and increase their operational and driving skills, while adding a fun competitive spin in the name of safety.

Participants who score 80 percent or more of the total possible points at a regional or state competition may substitute this event toward their six-year recertification. Drivers must complete the school bus safety road-e-o within twenty-four months of their current certificate expiring, in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3301-83-10(F6).

Top contestants at each regional school bus safety road-e-o will have the opportunity to advance to compete at the state-level competition. The contestants that place first place in each class at the state competition will have the opportunity to advance to the International School Bus Safety Competition which is held at Hays CISD in Austin, Texas, June 28 & 29, 2025.

The regional school bus safety road-e-o competitions are scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2025. The state competition is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025.
