Grant Monitoring Questions

1. What is the School Improvement Grant Monitoring survey?
The Department of Education and Workforce Grants Monitoring survey helps districts and schools track how effectively they are implementing either School Quality Improvement Grant (SQIG) programs or Expanding Opportunities for Each Child Direct Student Services (EOEC DSS) grant funded programs, using evidenced-based strategies included in their improvement plans.

2. Was my school, district, or community school selected to complete the Improvement and Innovation Grants Monitoring survey in FY24??
If your district, school, or community school was selected to complete the Grants Monitoring survey in FY24, you will receive a notification from the Department. All other organizations can complete the grants monitoring survey on an optional, self-assessment basis.

3.Who should complete the School Improvement Grants Monitoring Survey?

Selected organizations will be required to complete the School Improvement Grants Monitoring survey in FY24. Participation is mandatory for the selected organizations. You will be notified if your LEA has been selected. Completion of the Survey is optional and strongly encouraged for LEAs that were not selected. SQIG and EOEC DSS recipients are strongly encouraged to complete the Survey in FY24. Choosing not to complete the survey may result in additional monitoring.

4. When do districts and schools submit their School Improvement Grants Monitoring Survey?
LEAs may use the survey throughout the academic year to track their grant funding implementation. However, select organizations will be required to complete the survey in FY24. Participation is mandatory for these organizations.

Surveys must be submitted by Thursday, February 29, 2024.

5. How do districts and schools access the survey?
A user needs an OH|ID portal account and an OEDS role assigned with one of the following roles:
  • Superintendent
  • Treasurer
  • CCIP Authorized Representative
  • CCIP Fiscal Representative
  • Superintendent Designee
  • Data Entry Planning-CCIP
  • Data Entry Funding-CCIP
  • Data Entry-Compliance

6. Do respondents need to respond to every question included in the survey?

Respondents only need to respond to required questions. The required questions have an asterisk (*) next to them. Answering questions that are not required is optional

7. Which years should the Expanding Opportunities for Each Child DSS grantees reference when responding to the FY24 monitoring survey?
The Expanding Opportunities for Each Child DSS Grantees should reference outcomes from 2022-2023 academic year (Fiscal Year 2023).

8. Which years should the School Quality Improvement Grant (SQIG) grantees reference when responding to the FY24 monitoring survey?

Grantees should reference the 2022-2023 academic year (Fiscal Year 2023).

9. What are the parameters for uploading documents in the Questions Tab?
Mandatory grantees should upload documents to required questions:
a. If the file size does not exceed 10 Mb; or
b. If you use the drop and drag feature, the file size of one or a combination of files does not exceed 10 Mb.

Please note that self-survey grantees should NOT upload evidence when completing the self-survey.

10. What has changed in the survey from last year’s survey (FY23)?
As in FY23, the School Quality Improvement Grant survey is a district-level survey and will require LEAs to provide building-level information in one survey.
