Cleveland Scholarship Program

The Cleveland Scholarship application window is open for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years.

This program provides new educational choices for children in kindergarten through twelfth grade. The program gives students the opportunity to attend private schools in Cleveland. The State will provide reimbursement for tuition to help pay the cost of attending these schools. Even if your child already attends one of these schools, you may be eligible to apply for the program.

The maximum amount of the scholarship for K-8 is currently $5500 and high school is $7500. Each school has different tuition amounts, depending on the amount of the schools tuition, the state will pay up to the designated amount above. If the tuition is more than the amounts above, the parent is responsible for the difference.

If the student's family income is above 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines or if the student is in grades 9-12, the family may have to pay the difference or participate in volunteer service activities in lieu of cash payment. Parents and guardians are also responsible for registration fees, materials fees and other similar types of fees. The scholarship amount covers only school tuition.
