PBIS Recognition Award application and Intent to Apply form available

Ohio’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Recognition System provides an opportunity to celebrate schools and districts. Each year, the Department and the PBIS Network recognize schools and districts for their quality of and fidelity to PBIS implementation. Schools are eligible to receive awards at the bronze, silver or gold levels of distinction. 

This year, the Department and PBIS Network committed to examining and refining PBIS Recognition System processes to enhance the award system across the state for the 2022-2023 year. The Department and PBIS Network made updates to the 2022-2023 PBIS Recognition Award Application, such as adding the Intent to Apply form, updated scoring rubrics, Self-Assessment Survey (SAS) and student outcome data.  

Starting Feb. 6, schools and districts wishing to apply for a PBIS Recognition Award must complete the required Intent to Apply form. Schools and districts can find the form and related instructions in the application and must submit this to their regional State Support Team by Feb. 27. If the form is not completed by Feb. 27, the school or district will not be eligible for a 2022-2023 PBIS Recognition Award. State Support Team consultants will send a personal application link by March 3 to the school based on the submission of the Intent to Apply form.
